Eco-Practices
Whenever possible, Halcyon Daisies uses cut flowers grown from farms certified to be environmentally accountable in areas such as sustainable crop production, fair labor practices, ecosystem protection, resource conservation and waste management.
Creative eco-friendly containers are our specialty, using recycled glass, vintage, and organic vessels such as wooden logs, driftwood and bamboo to hold our designs. We gladly re-use client’s personal containers, for our custom designs. On an individual basis, we will work with you to find the right container for the right design situation.
Using knowledge learned from colleagues from England and Switzerland, we also love to provide clients with hand-tied bouquets, for use in their own containers at home. Hand-tied bouquets have been the common practice in many European countries in order to reduce waste.
We are very excited about Tillandsia! Using Tillandsia (air-plants) and succulents is a wonderful benefit to our living art. They have great longevity, require little care, and help conserve water. These beautiful plants create a special texture, exemplifying our style.
Halcyon Daisies separates and composts our organic waste, and recycles all other waste.
Living Art Installations
These wall-mounted, easy-care plant designs are installed on your wall like a hanging painting, creating a 3-D Living Wall. These designs create a therapeutic, meditative environment perfect for private homes, spas, lobbies, restaurants and any space hoping to feel living nature surrounding them.
The base of the design is created from a type of felt made from recycled plastic bottles. One-of-a-kind natural wood pieces or other organic support structures create the foundation for the plants to rest comfortably.
Living Moss, succulents and tillandsia thrive on your wall, and they only need to be misted with water and supplied indirect sunlight. Maintenance programs are available.
Installations can be created with automatic misting mechanisms and artificial lighting.
All designs are customized for the space they will occupy.
